About Me

My name is Evette Gurley, the founder, creator and owner of Earthy Attributes. 

Native to East Tennessee, nature has always surrounded me. I have resided in Spring City, TN the last decade with my family.

 I have 2 adult children and have been married to my soul mate for 25 years. We have 2 rescue dogs; Wally & Max. 

We enjoy the outdoors together camping, hiking, bicycling, motorcycling, boating and swimming in our free time.  

When I was a kid I had aspirations of being an archeologist but life and my career took a different path. 

I spent 18 years in inventory, accounting and personnel management. 

The past decade I retired and pursued other interests, hobbies and even did a custom floral design shop. 

In 2021 I became very ill. My quality of  life suffered tremendously. Seen by numerous doctors and specialists with no answers I had a mystery illness that could not be explained. 

Finally in 2023, I was diagnosed with Alpha-gal Syndrome. My life was completely changed. I have to analyze every food I eat and every product I use to ensure it does not contain mammal.

 I discovered in 2024 that I am also allergic to corn.

 What a challenge!

The expensive vegan products that I thought were healthy actually turned out to contain toxic chemicals and not so healthy ingredients. And we all need PhD's to read the long list of items used to mass produce the products we use daily.

After accidently learning that not all diffusing essential oils are safe for dogs to smell, which by the way I was diffusing toxic ones around my dogs, I started researching which ones were safe. That led to researching safe, all-natural ingredients that I could use for myself as well. Most all-natural vegan products use hemp or CBD as a base. While there is nothing wrong with that, in our house we can't use hemp, CBD or THC products. My husband's job requires random drug tests and it's not worth the risk of him losing his job.

Seeing the need for all-natural, non-toxic, organic, vegan, hemp free, CBD free, THC free products with a purpose for human and pet health, Earthy Attributes emerged.

My approach is simple when creating my products:

• what combinations of all-natural, non-toxic ingredients will give the best results
• what are the specific benefits of each ingredient, my "products with a purpose" philosophy
• who can this help, for example, a particular allergy, condition, or need
• how can I offer it affordable yet still profitable. Got to feed myself and eating with multiple allergies is not cheap, just a little side humor!

I tried throughout my life to live healthy but have not always lived up to those standards. I believe God created the Earth with all we need to live a healthy, abundant, vibrant Life!

I have always been a Re-cycle, Re-use, Re-purpose gal. I chose sustainable glass containers as part of that mantra and biodegradable, eco-friendly refill packaging with the least amount of plastics possible while ensuring the packaging integrity.

Earthy is grounded, practical and connected to Nature.
